7 months

I can't believe it but Riley is 7 months. I do not know where the time has gone. She is getting so big and is such a joy to have around. She still has 2 teeth, and boy are they sharp. She's chasing after Peyton every chance she gets in her walker. We are now having to baby proof the house, she is into everything!! She has been going through a spell of waking up slightly during the night, but we have for the most part fixed that problem. She likes her room completely dark when she goes to bed. Her hair is getting so long, but I'm afraid she got my thin lifeless hair. She is working on learning to crawl. She gets on her belly and is reaching and trying to get up on her knees. And she is almost doing bye-bye -- which is so adorable.

This weekend all of us are taking a much needed trip down to Louisville. I am so excited to see everyone.

So I keep meaning to bring in my camera to upload new pictures and I keep forgetting.

Riley is doing so good. Its amazing how, well, amazing she is. I always thought it was cliche to hear mothers talk about being mothers, but it is the truth. She is our pride and joy. Every minute with her is bliss. She's already becoming Miss Independent, which makes me proud and breaks my heart at the same time. I hate that she is getting so big, it seems just like yesterday we were bringing her home and she was so tiny. Now shes covering a lot of ground in her walker, moving with a purpose. Andy and I have a new song that makes us tear up every time we hear it. Here are the lyrics...

He didnt have to wake up
He'd been up all nite
Lay'n there in bed listen'n
To his new born baby cry
He makes a pot of coffee
He splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss and says
It gonna be OK

It wont be like this for long
One day soon we'll look back laugh'n
At the week we brought her home
This phase is gonna fly by
So baby just hold on
It wont be like this for long

Four years later bout four thirty
She's crawling in there bed
And when he drops her off at preschool
She's clinging to his leg
The teacher peels her off of him
He says what can I do
She says now dont you worry
This will only last a week or two

It wont be like this for long
One day soon we'll drop her off

And she wont even know your gone
This phase is gonna fly by
If you can just hold on
It wont be like this for long

One day soon she'll be a teenager
And at times you'll think she hates him
Then he'll walk her down the isle
And he'll raise her vale
But right now she up and cry'n
And the truth is that he dont mind
As he kisses her good night
And she says her prayers
He lays down there beside her
Till her eyes are finally closed
And just watch'n her it breaks his heart
Cause he already knows
It wont be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
All grown up and gone
Yeah this phase is gonna fly by
He's try'n to hold on
It wont be like this for long
It wont be like this for long
