So Riley is recovering from her first cold. I felt so bad for her, coughing, sneezing, trouble breathing. But thankfully it hasn't lasted that long and she seems to be getting over it quickly. I took her to the doctor on Thursday to make sure that it wasn't an ear infection or in her lungs, and thank God it isn't. Other than that she's doing well. Still sleeping through the night, her hand/eye cordination is coming along well, and she's cooing up a storm. It is so much fun watching her evey move.
Riley is now over the 3 month mark. We got her pictures taken over the weekend to mark the event, actually I had a beautiful silk dress that I wanted to get pictures taken in before she outgrew it. She's still sleeping through the night, and is growing fast, almost too fast. As much as I enjoy her ever changing, I want her too stay this way forever.
We got a book about baby sign language last night, hopefully we can be good teachers.
My parents came up on Sunday for a day visit. Riley and I got some good grandma and pawpaw shopping time while Andy stayed home to work on our car. It was an unexpected surprise, but I am so happy they came up. It was a nice day and great to see them. Riley is so funny with them, I can tell she knows who they are and enjoys spending time with them. It makes me happy.
Last week, Riley made it to her tummy, all by herself. I was absolutely thrilled, Andy, however was upset that he missed it. :( But she's only done it a few times. She really wants to stand and sit up, and is really holding her head up quite well. She's still sleeping through the night (*knock on wood). She will be 3 months this week.
Time is flying by so fast. Christmas will be here before we know it. Riley is really making great progress as she developes. She has found her hands a few weeks ago, and is now on to her feet. I absolutely love this stage where she is playing with her toes in amazement that they are there. Sometimes I just wonder what she is thinking. She seems so aware of everything going on around her. She loves Peyton, and of coarse he loves her more than he does us. He just walks up, licks her on the leg or toes, and walks away. And she gets a giant grin on her face.
She's been cooing a lot her lately, she just has something to say. Its adorable.
We didn't do much this weekend. It was kind of quiet, in fact I even got a nap in on Sunday.
Pictures are coming soon...
Riley is in a cutest baby contest for the local newspaper....

she's 93....feel free to check it out....
So it was a great weekend. Jammed packed of all kinds of events. We got down there friday night, after a little stop in Edinburg to get Riley some warmer clothes. Then Saturday we hit Morgan & Chases games, then spent a short time at the somewhat disappointing "St. James Art Show" --- yea I don't know how those vendors make any money. I respect the artist as artists, but come'on, who can afford those prices?? I like going down there as an artist, but going as a consumer looking to buy is a different issue. What happened to the balance of crafts and highend artwork??? oh well, I did manage to get a few halloween decorations, but nothing for Riley's room.
Then we went shopping with mom and dad, and Sunday we went to chase's game where he got to play....he's so small, compared to the other boys, he got to play at the scrimmage.
We had a wonderful time. We did not go to the zoo, but its okay, Riley still tried on her halloween costume. Maybe next time... here are some pics!
Last night was Riley's first bonfire. We had a small get together at our house, Andy's Aunt Mary is in town. Although, she slept through most of it, Riley seemed to enjoy the company. It was the first bonfire we've had since before Riley was born. Its perfect weather, just cool enough so that you can snuggle. Riley had the warmest seat in the house, bundled up in her carseat. It was a nice night and a nice time to relax. Today we are heading down to Louisville for a jammed packed weekend. It's time for St. James Art Festival, and I'm so excited to go this year, perhaps I may buy something!!! I love this time of year. Leaves are changing, the fields are coming down, light jacket but can still wear flops season. There's just something about a nice fall day to make you happy.
well we'll have some pics up soon!! mom, dad, odaniels...here we come!!!!
